Blog writing block coupled with gratuitous bikini shot

I’ve been searching my brain for a blog topic.

I got nuffin’…

I thought of posting a series of pictures and being all, “Look at me and my happy family!”

Instead though, I was struck with the idea of trying my hand at the digital animation/drawing/whatever-it’s-called that I see at a few of my favourite blogs.
Cake Betch…yeah, she had me at her handle!!! from The Hot Mess Chronicles is HI-LA-RI-OUS!
Lola over at Lola is 40 does her own drawings and tells it like it is.
Both lovely, fabulous ladies make the whole digital animation/drawing/whatever-it’s-called look SO easy.

Not so easy.

Two hours later, after using up most of the ink in my printer, gluing a clump of my long glorious hair to my cheek, and cursing at god for not having gifted me with the ability to draw more than stick figures (some of which don’t even have legs), this is what I got for you.

Oh, and you’ll notice my daughter never made it into the tender family dinner scene…that’s because I ran out of room on the paper.

Be gentle…
I’m a virgin.

The good news is that I won’t be trying this again.

I dunno, after some of the “art” I've seen lately, this is museum worthy.

When all else fails a bikini shot is ALWAYS good. That is if you've got the body for one!

I adore you so much. I am just picturing you sitting there at the table with a bunch of crafts all around you and your tongue stuck out on one side while you draw. Lol.

You will never be able to get over the guilt of not including your daughter. I predict the next one you “draw” will be a solely focused on your daughters to make up for this. Why? Because you won't be able to stop yourself.

Oh and I still like the hat.

  37. Bibliomama
    April 13, 2011 | 9:29 pm

Bitch. I hate that you have the option to post a pic of yourself in a bikini and instantly nobody even notices if the post is lame – if I did that everyone would be all “my eyes my eyes! I'm blind! It's like acid, it burns!” and then I'd get reported.

Hi honey! This is me, waving to you! I'm still on blog break, but I just wanted to stop in and say, MWAA, that's me blowing a kiss and to say, you look so incredibly amazing. You are an inspiration to the rest of us mama's. And the freakin cartoon was fabulous. My hubs likes to take me to the Depot for dates. He also rents bombs, guns, car chasing movies and tells me he brought us home a love story to watch.

I shouldn't be too much longer. Don't have too much fun without me.

I love this post, very funny! I often look at some of the beautiful blogs and their lovely pictures or other blogs and their creative illustrations and I think, could I do that? I'm pretty sure I would come to the same conculsion you did! Although, I did love your picture and it seemed a lot more like my family then some of the other “perfect” looking depictions out there.
