So I finished my university courses last week.
Which means I have loads of time on my hands until the kids are out of school in June.
…what to do what to do…
Oh I know! I’ll blog.
Which means I’ll write about pretty much anything I can think of, as exemplified in my last post about my constipation issues coupled with my inability to fart loudly...that’s right, I have no qualms about describing my bodily functions. Nope. Not me.
But blogging also means reading other people’s blogs.
I will spend hours hopping around from blog to blog.
I LOVE IT!
I am in my glory!
What I have noticed about myself is that there are some blogs I will not go to.
These blogs and their bloggers are hugely successful.
I’m sure their content is intelligent, relevant, and doesn’t talk about stinky farts.
Clearly, based on the blogs and their popularity, giving them a read would benefit me and change my world in some small significant way.
But I won’t.
Because when I was a wee lass blogger, I did stop in, left a comment, and anxiously awaited a reply.
The reply was condescending and made fun of my post.
Honestly, I would have prefered if these bloggers had not even come to my blog.
Then I would have thought they were extremely busy, and of course they didn’t have time to visit every single blogger that visited them.
I read The Bloggess and don’t expect anything in return, just a good old time, and an appreciation for the finer, gratuitous profanities in life, as demonstrated by yesterday’s post titled Stop Being an Asshole, Target.
Oh sure, I was probably overly sensitive to these other bloggers because I was new in the neighbourhood.
I was the new gal on the block hoping someone would drop by with cookies, saying: “Wow! You’re fantastic! Come over for supper next week!”
It’s highly possible I may have misinterpreted the comment, and in fact the blogger wasn’t insulting me at all, only trying to be witty.
I never will.
Because I have not returned to read these particular bloggers.
Here’s another interesting fact though.
These particular bloggers have not stopped by to visit me either since.
Our paths have crossed.
We see each others’ comments on other people’s blogs.
We know the other exists.
Yet there is this unspoken rivalry.
This high school popularity contest.
I’m not too proud to admit that in high school I wasn’t the prom queen.
But I’m not in high school anymore.
This time, I will be crowned! ~cue to evil laughter~
Actually, I’m kidding.
I won’t be crowned.
Anyway, I have my own crowns now.
I will, however, continue to orbit the blogosphere loving the blogs that I read and hoping my comments are never obnoxious.
They haven’t been right?…because when I’m PMSing, I can’t be held accountable, just sayin’…
In the meantime, here’s to a fantastic spring and upcoming summer…in Winnipeg, we may never actually see summer…
I look forward to
stalking visiting y’all (that’s for my southern readers!)
